Vendredi le 13 décembre 2002 The "Christkind" / Christ Child is Jesus Christ himself as a child. On christmas we celebrate that God becomes human in Jesus Christ. He was born not like a king but as a poor baby. So God showed his solidarity with all the poor and weak. The birth of Jesus Christ brought joy into the world. In this joy we make presents to our family-members and friends also today. We want to share our joy. In Austria and parts of Germany we say that "Christ Child" brings these presents on Christmas Eve. It's like "Christ Child's birthday". This helps us to remember the original meaning of christmas. 3:23:36 PM
